Workshop and AGM
In
Uganda, nutrition policies and strategies need to be routinely revised,
develop new ones and implemented quickly if the country is to make
substantial progress towards attaining the Millennium Development Goals
(MDGs)of reducing malnutrition, child mortality, improved maternal
health and combating HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases. Nutrition
interventions indeed provide some of the most effective ways of
preventing illness, reducing mortality and promoting child development
and consequently strengthening human capital. The challenge now is in
how to accelerating nutrition improvement, through developing
appropriate and effective policies, strategies and programmes to combat
diseases using nutrition interventions.
